2. App Overview

PureVest is a local-first personal RSU / equity compensation tracker with simple after-tax estimates based on rates you configure.

• Unlimited grants on the free tier; share prices are entered manually (no live quotes)
• Vesting calendar (list / month); optional “Add to Calendar”
• Reminders via system alarms (AlarmKit, iOS 26+) or local notifications (default offsets: 7 days before, 1 day before, and vest day)
• Data stays on device by default; optional iCloud private backup (not social sharing)
• One-time purchase unlocks Pro: deeper tax tools, withholding gap, scenarios, after-tax totals, large widget, CSV/PDF export (no subscription; Family Sharing supported)
• Does not provide tax/legal/investment advice; not a broker; no trading

3. Quick Start Checklist

If vesting reminders are not firing as expected:

1. Open Settings → Reminders and confirm reminders are enabled; choose system alarm or local notification.
2. Confirm the grant still has future vesting events.
3. For local notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → PureVest — allow notifications; check Focus / Do Not Disturb.
4. For system alarms: requires iOS 26+ and alarm permission when prompted.
5. After changing vesting schedules or reminder settings, reopen the app to refresh scheduling.
6. After major iOS updates, open the app once to resync schedules.
7. If iCloud private backup is on but data is missing on a new device: same Apple ID, toggle enabled, then restart the app.

Q: Why didn’t I receive a vesting reminder?

A: Common causes include denied notification/alarm permission, Focus mode, reminders disabled, no future vest dates, or local notification pending limits. Follow the checklist above.

Q: What is free vs Pro?

A: Grant count is unlimited on free. Free covers basic tracking with limited tax configuration; Pro unlocks multi-line tax profiles, overrides, withholding gap, scenarios, after-tax totals, large widget, and export. See the in-app paywall.

Q: How do I restore my purchase?

A: Tap “Restore Purchases” on the paywall or in Settings → Buyout. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.

Q: How do I request a refund?

Q: Do I need an account?

A: No. Core features work on device without in-app registration.

Q: Does data sync across devices?

A: By default, data stays on the current device. You may optionally enable iCloud private backup (CloudKit private database). Restart the app after changing the toggle.

Q: Do share prices update automatically?

A: No. Prices are manual in the current version. The app may show a stale-price cue if you have not updated recently.

Q: Are after-tax numbers official tax figures?

A: No. They are personal planning estimates from rates and prices you enter—not tax filing, legal, or investment advice.

Q: What is the difference between system alarms and local notifications?

A: System alarms (AlarmKit) use the system alarm UI on supported iOS versions; local notifications appear in Notification Center. Earlier iOS versions use notifications only.

Q: Can I use the app offline?

A: Core features work offline. Purchases/restore require the App Store; iCloud private backup requires network when enabled.

5. One-Time Purchase, Billing, and Apple Policies

• The app uses a one-time purchase (not an auto-renewing subscription), processed by Apple. Product ID: COM.YiMingStudio.PureVest.LifeTime.
• “Restore Purchases” restores entitlement on a new device or after reinstall; Family Sharing may apply per product configuration.
• Refund decisions are made by Apple under Apple policies.

6. Permissions Used by the App

• Notifications: for local vesting reminders.
• System alarms (AlarmKit): when you choose system alarms on supported iOS versions.
• Calendar (write): only when you choose to add vesting dates to Calendar.
• iCloud (optional): only when private backup is enabled.
• Network (optional): App Store purchase/restore, optional iCloud sync, and opening privacy/support pages.

7. Accessibility and Usability

The app includes VoiceOver labels, Dynamic Type, Dark Mode, and Reduce Motion support. Contact support if you find an inaccessible screen.

8. Known Behavior Notes

• Reminder delivery depends on iOS scheduling, Focus settings, and permissions.
• The notification channel has system pending limits; the app prioritizes nearer vesting reminders.
• After-tax and scenario numbers change with your entered prices/rates and are not employer withholding results.
• Exports are local files you generate; share destinations are chosen via the system share sheet.

System alarms (AlarmKit) require iOS 26+. On earlier versions, use local notifications.
